Try outs

Over the holidays the Studio received a beautiful gift of Faber Castell markers. Naturaly I didn't hesitate to test the them out.

Although these are not the type of markers that I am used to illustrate with; I took it as a chance to test out new material, which in my professional opinion, is always fun and important to do. Exploring new mediums, tools and material is essential to grow and expand your artistic skills. The results can be surprising and open doors to new styles and designs.

The box came with an excellent variation of hues and tones that didn't loose their luminosity once absorbed into the paper. The felt tip glided easily over the surface, allowing you to make long and continuous strokes or short sharp lines without to much bleeding or smudging.

All in all I had fun using them; the quality of Faber Castell has yet to disappoint this marker enthusiast!

A quick look

As mentioned in our previous post Studio Charlebois has returned to the art of acrylic painting. Below are two canvas paintings both part of Studio Chalrebois's 2012 acrylic collection.*

Standstill ~ "A brief standstill in time, where perceptions
of the world around us are not what they would ordinarily be"

Untitled ~ "description to come."

*The pictures of "Standstill" & "Untitled" shown above were taken from a phone camera and do not represent the actual size and proportions; as well as the hues and tones; which may vary from the original. Studio Charlebois will post professional pictures of the paintings shortly, which will be added to the online gallery.
